Minor setback

I think I just went through a 2 week period of losing lots of hair.  While this may seem disappointing, I am not getting discouraged. After reading for several hours in various blogs and forums I have concluded that this is pretty typical with avodart. This could also be a normal hair cycle thing or some reverse placebo thing because I missed a few days when I was out sick and I left my avodart at the office. I don’t know, but the good news is it has stopped. Everything seems good now and no side effects.

3 Months In

Since it’s literally been a month since my last post,  you would think I would have a lot to discuss. The truth is that this is a slow process.   after 3 months on avodart, I finally feel comfortable cutting my hair short. The crown areas is actually starting to fill out on its own and I no longer feel it necessary to mask this area with the rest of my hair. Yes,  I still have a balder area on the top of my head, but I feel confident saying that I am no longer “balding” and I am now “growing.”  It’s pretty self evident that this result can be attributed solely to avodart.  There has been a lot of real improvement and again no side effects.

The Real Deal

This first new growth is looking more prominent and spreading more through my hairline.  I also am noticing thicker hair in general, and when my head is wet you can now see follicles coming to life throughout my head.  The overall length of my hair getting bushy how I usually keep it,  so I am hoping by next haircut    few weeks, I will see some new revelation in the crown area. One interesting side effect (not necessarily a bad one) is the new hairs coming in are darker, in some cases black.  I am strangely also noticing this in my facial hair. I have naturally dirty blond hair, so I was somewhat perplexed to see many black hairs growing into my face.
